Jane's Blue Dress
16" x 16" x 1.5"
Oil and Gold Leaf on Canvas. Gallery Wrapped canvas with finished sides, ready to frame
On a recent trip to Paris, Jane became obsessed with a stunning blue dress in the window of a small boutique. After spending a pretty penny on the gown, she realized she had nowhere to wear it and found herself donning it every night, giving it a twirl in the privacy of her own closet. Every girl can dream.
During the process of this painting, I had many alterations and finally came up with a figurative piece with loose lines that still captures the glamour I love. Here is photo of some stopping points in the process. I decided to use a palette knife near the end, and was very happy with the results.
