In an attempt to use looser brush strokes and decrease my use of detail, this beauty emerged. The canvas is built up with many layers of thick medium to add texture. I completed her without the gold leaf and was quite happy with the result. The next day, I went to the studio to look at her with "new eyes" and thought she was a little pale. I worked with the flowers a bit, took a step back, and thought some gold would add a little drama. It was exactly what she needed!
