KRISTIN EXPLAINS YOUR PRINT AND FRAME OPTIONS

When the pandemic first broke out, I knew my clients purchasing prints didn't want to go out and frame them.  We all wanted to stay at home and safe, while waiting for some hope.

This led me down a path of exploring lots of frame manufacturers and trying out various framing options to best serve you all.

It can all be a little overwhelming when given so many options...so let's go over the basics.

1. UNFRAMED PAPER PRINT

This is your least expensive option with the fastest delivery time as well.  It's a great way to start your art collection, especially if you have a frame at home you like or a framer that always does a great job.

My prints are digitally signed with the signature within the image.  So, you don't need to have a framer customize the frame around a signature.  Easy Peasy!

Many ask if my prints are "Giclee" and I answer, "Yes"!

The word "giclee" is an antiquated term for what is now standard printing for fine art.

Most Fine Art Prints these days are even better than what was originally termed "giclee".

All of my prints are printed on premium archival paper with non-toxic inks that stay brilliantly colored for years.

2.  PAPER PRINTS, FRAMED AND MATTED

To save you the extra step of framing, my printer does an EXCELLENT job of professional framing.  To make things simple, I've narrowed down the frame choices to those that work best with the light and beachy colors of my artwork.

You can choose from Light Wood or White.

They always come with a white mat as well...to make the piece really pop!

This pretty framing is finished off with a clear acrylic (plexiglass) to allow for glare-free viewing, and safe, light-weight hanging.

This type of framing gives your piece a very traditional finish.

3.  GALLERY WRAPPED CANVAS

If you're looking for something a bit more contemporary and casual, this is a great choice.

Using the same high quality printing method, the image is actually printed on canvas.  The canvas is then wrapped over stretcher bars...making the piece look as if it is actually on a canvas that came right from the artist's studio.

The sides of the artwork are 1.5" deep and white. The back is professionally finished with hardware, ready to hang.

4.  GALLERY WRAPPED CANVAS IN A FLOAT FRAME

This is your choice for the best of all worlds.

You get the deep edges as mentioned above, but then the artwork is perfectly placed within a float frame.  This gives the piece a contemporary look with a professional finish.

As you can see, there is a 1/4" gap between the canvas and the frame, giving the illusion that the artwork is "floating".

Choices of Float Frame:

White

Gold

Silver

This is my favorite option for its elegance.

It's the closest you can get to an original artwork without it being original.

 SO MANY CHOICES!
